SA20 2025-26 final will take place on January 25 at Newlands in Cape Town.
South Africa’s franchise T20 tournament, SA20 2025-26, has reached its climax as the league stage has been completed. Four teams have earned their place in the playoffs, while the remaining two teams have been eliminated from the tournament.
All six teams played 10 games in the league stage, playing one away game and one home game against each of the other five teams. Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) finished in the top spot in the points table with five victories and three defeats (2 no result). They ended with 28 points in their kitty.
Sunrisers will face the Pretoria Capitals in Qualifier 1, and the winner will seal a berth in the final. Below are the two teams who have been eliminated from the SA20 2025-26 playoffs race.

Durban Super Giants (DSG)
Durban Super Giants had a season to forget. Aiden Markram-led Giants failed to qualify for the playoffs despite a star-studded squad. DSG won just three games and lost four matches out of 10. Three of their matches were washed out due to rain.
With 19 points and a Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.068, they ended in the fifth spot in the points table. Joburg Super Kings crushed Paarl Royals by 44 runs in the final league match on Monday, January 19.
With a bonus-point win, they sealed fourth place in the points table and knocked out Durban from the tournament.
MI Cape Town (MICT)
The most shocking event for fans this season was that the defending champions, MI Cape Town, emerged as the worst performers. The Rashid Khan & Co. could only win three games and suffered defeats in six encounters.
Their one match ended without a result. With 14 points, they languish in the bottom-most position in the points table. MICT failed to win a must-win game against Sunrisers Eastern Cape on Sunday (January 18), suffering a huge defeat by seven wickets in their last encounter of the league stage.
