SA20 2025: Player auction to be held on October 1; See list of top stars to be auctioned

The SA20 2025 will kick off on January 9.
On Friday, it was confirmed that the SA20 2025 player auction will be held on October 1 in Cape Town. All six teams have completed their pre-signings and retentions ahead of the third season of the competition.
The SA20 2025 is scheduled to be played from January 9 to February 8.
The tournament will feature some of the bigger names in the world of cricket. Among the biggest attractions in the upcoming season will be England test captain Ben Stokes, who has been roped in by MI Cape Town already.
Players to be auctioned in SA20 2025 auction:
Former South Africa captain and the SA20 league commissioner Graeme Smith has hailed SA20 as “one of the Tier 1 franchise leagues on the global circuit”. It has managed to attract plenty of prominent names to sign up for the player auction.
Some of the top international stars who will go under the hammer at the SA20 auction are Joe Root, Dinesh Karthik, Ben Stokes, Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Rashid Khan, Devon Conway, Azmatullah Omarzai, Jonny Bairstow and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
India’s Dinesh Karthik can feature in SA20 and other leagues in the world as he has announced his retirement from international, domestic and IPL cricket.
“In the first two seasons, world-class cricket in front of capacity crowds has positioned SA20 as one of the Tier 1 franchise leagues on the global circuit. With international stars like Dinesh Karthik, Ben Stokes, Kane Williamson, Joe Root, Trent Boult, Johnny Bairstow, Devon Conway, Zak Crawley, Rashid Khan and Rahmanullah Gurbaz committing to their respective SA20 teams, the hard work that the League and franchises have put in to create a world-class experience has paid off and we thank everyone involved for their monumental efforts,” Smith said in a released statement.
“To have the calibre of international players joining local heroes like Aiden, KG and Heinrich sets up an explosive season. We are also incredibly proud of all the domestic players who have been retained by the teams, including the majority of the rookies who have been incorporated as fully-contracted players for Season 3.”
