During the launch event of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) season 2 launch event, an awkward moment happened between legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood icon Kareena Kapoor on August 18.

The second edition of the ISPL, which is India’s first-ever T10 tennis ball cricket tournament, is all set to take place from January 26 to February 9 at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium in Thane in Mumbai.

Cricketers can register for trials in 55 cities across the country. The trials will be organized into five competitive zones, providing a significant opportunity for aspiring cricketers to showcase their talents.

Sachin Tendulkar seems shy when posing with Kareena Kapoor at the ISPL 2 launch event.

An awkward incident happened when legendary cricketer Tendulkar and Bollywood icons Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan came on the stage for photographs.

Tendulkar looked shy when Kareena put her hand forward for a picture; perhaps she wanted Tendulkar to be a bit closer for the photo. However, Tendulkar shyly stepped back. Both the celebrities, though, shared smiles and carried on with the photo session.

New innovative features added in ISPL 2

The upcoming edition of the ISPL will see a few innovative features being added. The ‘Tip Top’ toss, the 50/50 challenge, ‘Tape Ball Over,’ and ‘9 Street Runs’ are some of the new features that will be seen in the second season of ISPL.

Tendulkar, who is the Core Committee Member of ISPL, said that the idea of the tape ball over was to give bowlers an extra advantage over batters.

“If we are giving some advantage to the batsmen then the bowlers also need to get in the game. During my playing days, I used to tape the ball up from one side. In season (leather) balls, we look for the shiny and the rough side and in the tennis ball, we would apply tape on one side and I used to practice reverse swing to face it in international cricket,” Tendulkar said as quoted by PTI.

“I thought why not introduce it in this format and if this is implemented then the batter’s technique will also be tested,” he added.
