Sachin Tendulkar hailed India on X after their victory in The Oval test.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar hailed Indian Cricket Team for their exciting victory in the fifth test at The Oval. India crushed England by six runs in the match to end the series in a 2-2 draw. England had a target of 374 runs in The Oval test and were at 339/6 at the stumps of day four.

The hosts needed just 35 more runs to win the encounter on day five, however, they had only four wickets left in their kitty. Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj took the final wicket of Gus Atkinson to drive the team to victory.

The right-arm pacer clinched a five-wicket haul in the second innings and nine wickets in the match to win the Player of the Match award. India registered their narrowest victory in test cricket during the encounter.

Sachin Tendulkar reacts to India’s victory in The Oval test

Tendulkar took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his reaction to India’s victory in The Oval test. He also heaped praise on Indian players for a brilliant turnaround in the encounter.

“Test cricket… absolute goosebumps. Series 2–2, Performance 10/10! SUPERMEN from INDIA! What a Win,” he wrote on X. Have a look at his tweet below.

England skipper Ollie Pope won the toss and chose to bowl first in the clash. With Karun Nair’s half-century, India were bowled out for 224 runs in the first innings. Zak Crawley and Harry Brook helped England to reach 247/10 in the first innings with their fifties.

In the second innings, India piled up 396/10 on the board with Yashasvi Jaiswal’s century. Despite tons by Harry Brook and Joe Root in the second innings, England failed to chase down the target, getting bowled out for 367 runs. Shubman Gill and Harry Brook won the Player of the Series awards.

Gill ended as the top run-scorer in the series with 754 runs at an average of 75.40. The Indian skipper slammed four centuries across 10 innings to break numerous batting records. Siraj ended as the highest wicket-taker in the series with 23 scalps.
