Sai Sudharsan made his test debut for India during the first test against England in Leeds.
The Indian Cricket Team might have faced a massive blow ahead of the second test against the England Cricket Team. As per the Journalist Rohit Juglan of RevSportz, who is covering the ENG vs IND series in England, the left-hander is not completely fit for the second game, which will be played at Edgbaston in Birmingham from 2nd July.
The reports claimed that Sai Sudharsan experienced some discomfort in his shoulder during the last day of the first test against England at Headingly in Leeds. Hence, there is no clarity if he will be there in the XI for the second game at Edgbaston.
Sai Sudharsan made his debut for India in the tests during the first test in Leeds. While batting at three, he didn’t have a great start to his career as the left-hander bagged a duck in the first innings. He was removed by England skipper Ben Stokes on the fourth ball that he faced.
However, in the second innings, he came up with a better performance. Sai Sudharsan looked solid at the crease and played an innings of 30 runs off 48 balls but failed to carry on the start that he had, hitting four boundaries during his stay at the crease.
Sai Sudharsan’s likely injury opens gate for Abhimanyu Easwaran to make his debut
If Sai Sudharsan doesn’t get fit for the second game, there are chances that Abhimanyu Easwaran might make his debut for the side at three. The right-hander has been in good form as he played some handy knocks for India A in the unofficial test series against England Lions.
The upcoming ENG vs IND second test will be extremely crucial for the Shubman Gill-led side in the context of the series. The visitors faced a disappointing five-wicket loss in the first game, and this came despite five centuries coming from the Indian camp. They failed to defend the target of 371 runs.
India would be keen to make a solid comeback in the second game and level the series. With their bowling not clicking much in the first game, there are chances that the team management might make a few changes in the XI.
