Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are locking horns in the 60th match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Saturday, May 16. The encounter is underway at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
After being asked to bat first, KKR arrived with an impeccable batting show. Finn Allen hammered a spectacular 93-run knock off 35 deliveries to provide a blistering start.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi (82*) and Cameron Green (52*) slammed unbeaten fifties to drive the scoreboard to a mammoth 247/2. GT bowlers were completely helpless against the trio, who dominated them throughout the innings.

GT batter Sai Sudharsan sustained an injury while batting in the second innings. He was hit on his left elbow in the third over of Kartik Tyagi.
The KKR pacer bowled a short of length delivery, which Sai Sudharsan tried to pull and the ball went through backward square leg. Sudharsan fell down, lost his bat and got up in a lot of pain but managed to complete the single.
After completing the single, he tumbled and immediately removed the gloves. Replays showed that the ball hit his left elbow. He was seen in pain and walked off the field with the team physio by getting retired hurt.
He was replaced by Nishant Sandhu on the crease. Sudharsan can return to bat later, but with the kind of pain he was in, things didn’t look great for him.
Meanwhile, GT can book a berth in the playoffs if they outplay KKR in the match. They will also replace RCB from the top position in the points table. No team has qualified for the playoffs so far. On the other hand, KKR need to win the match to keep their playoffs hopes alive.
