Watch: Salman Agha Ali cops a blow on face, starts bleeding in IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match

Salman Agha Ali made 23 runs before getting dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav lbw.
Pakistani batter Salman Agha Ali copped a blow to his face while batting in the match against India in the ongoing Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2023 on September 11, 2023.
The match resumed on Monday after rain had halted India’s innings at 147/2 in 24.1 overs with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill hitting half-centuries and Virat Kohli and KL Rahul at the crease. This was after Pakistan captain Babar Azam had won the toss and chosen to bowl first.
As the game resumed, Virat Kohli and Rahul took the offense to Pakistani bowlers and after seeing out a few initial overs, set up the platform for a huge total. Pakistan was handicapped due to injury to Haris Rauf and sixth bowler Iftikhar Ahmed was torn apart by the two Indian batters.
KL Rahul, who was making his comeback to the Indian team since March this year, and was returning from a hip surgery, hammered his 6th ODI ton and remained unbeaten on 112* with 12 fours and 2 sixes.
He added 233* runs for the third wicket with Virat Kohli, who himself made 122* which was his 47th ODI century and he also went past the 13,000-run mark. India posted a mammoth 356/2 in 50 overs.
Salman Agha Ali sweeps the ball onto his face; injury causes bleeding
Pakistan batter Agha Salman suffered a cut on his face after attempting a paddle sweep off left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja during the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Monday.
Salman decided to take on the spinner without a helmet after coming in at number five during Pakistan's lengthy pursuit. The Pakistani batsman executed a sweep in response to Jadeja's flatter delivery, the final one of the 21st over.
He wound up cutting his face with the top edge, and blood began to trickle from behind his right eye.
The injury caused a stoppage in play on the reserve day, with Salman being tended to by the physios. The 29-year-old underwent a concussion test and resumed batting with a helmet. He made 23 runs before Kuldeep Yadav dismissed him LBW.
