Salman Agha’s Pakistan beat UAE to qualify for the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2025.

Following a decisive victory over the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Pakistan captain Salman Agha declared his team ready to face India in Asia Cup 2025 Super Four match. Pakistan advanced to the Super Four stage, where they will play India again on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai, after defeating the UAE by 41 runs in their most recent group match.

Following a humiliating seven-wicket loss on Sunday, September 14, and the no-handshake controversy against India, Pakistan are under tremendous pressure to do better in the next match.

Salman Agha declared that his squad is prepared for any challenge in the upcoming match against India after their decisive victory against the UAE.

Yeah, we’re ready for any challenge. We just want to play good cricket, and if we play good cricket like we’ve been playing for the last few months. I think we’ll be good against any side,” said Agha in the post-match presentation after the UAE match.

Pakistan had managed just 127/9 in 20 overs against India after choosing to bat first in Dubai. Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets with the ball. In response, Suryakumar Yadav made 47*, while Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma hammered 31 runs each as India won in 15.5 overs with seven wickets in hand.

“We haven’t batted our best yet.”- Salman Agha on the below-par batting show by Pakistan

Salman Agha, captain of Pakistan, also emphasized that his team’s incapacity to bat well in the middle overs is preventing them from reaching a difficult total of 170-180.

Salman Agha, the skipper, has struggled to get going in the middle order, and opening batter Saim Ayub is yet to open his account after recording three straight ducks in the tournament.

We got the job done, but we still need to bat better in the middle over. I think that’s what has been concerning for us for a few games now. We need to look at that. We haven’t batted our best yet, but we’re still finding a way to score around 150. If we bat well in the middle over, we probably will end up scoring 170-180, no matter which team we are playing against. So yeah, the middle overs, if we bat well there, we will be very good,” he added.

It remains to be seen how Pakistan will avenge their group match loss against India when they clash in Dubai on Sunday.
