Darius Visser clattered six sixes in an over against Vanuatu’s Nalin Nipiko.

Playing in just his third T20I match, Samoa batter Darius Visser created a new world record in men’s T20I as he smashed six sixes in an over against Vanuatu pacer Nalin Nipiko, who conceded 39 runs in the over, which is the most runs conceded in a single over in men’s T20I.

Visser achieved this feat on Tuesday during a match in the T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Region Qualifier in Apia.

Darius Visser becomes the fourth batsman to hit six sixes in an over in men’s T20I

The 28-year-old Visser, a middle-order batsman, blasted six sixes against Vanuatu’s Nalin Nipiko in the 15th over of Samoa’s innings. The over included two front-foot no-balls and one no-ball was for waist-height full-toss.

The ICC uploaded the video of this incident:

Visser scored 132 runs off 62 balls, which included a whopping 14 sixes, the fifth highest in a men’s T20I innings, in his team’s total of 174. Samoa won the match by 10 runs.

Before Visser, three batters have smoked six sixes in an over in men’s T20Is: India’s Yuvraj Singh against England’s Stuart Broad in the 2007 T20 World Cup; West Indies’ Kieron Pollard against Sri Lanka’s Akila Dananjaya in 2021; Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee against Qatar’s Kamran Khan in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup T20, 2024.

Further, there are two other occasions of 36 runs being scored in an over in men’s T20I – India against Afghanistan and West Indies against Afghanistan, both instances earlier this year – but they didn’t include six sixes.
