Sanju Samson was not chosen for IND vs AUS T20I series.

Sanju Samson, Indian cricketer with a dedicated fan base. Whenever he doesn't make it into Indian cricket team, there's a lot of discussion on social media about why he's not included. Samson has played in 13 ODIs and 24 T20Is for India.

Some people feel that Sanju Samson is unfortunate to have been left out of the national team on multiple occasions. However, in a recent podcast, Samson rejected the notion of being labelled as an 'unlucky' cricketer.

“I’m not very interested in that. ‘Aiyyyo, paavam Sanju! The most unluckiest cricketer!’ When I hear that I think, ‘what kind of foolishness is that!’ How am I the unluckiest cricketer? Where I have reached right now, it’s more than where I thought I could,” said Kerala cricketer in a podcast called "I AM with Dhanya Varma."

In Indian Premier League, Samson has been leading Rajasthan Royals franchise since 2021 season. He was initially picked up by the team in 2013. Samson also shared insights into his relationship with Rohit Sharma, the captain of Indian cricket team.

Discussing a particular moment in his cricketing journey, Samson said," The first or the second person who came and talked to me was Rohit bhai. He came and asked, ‘Haan Sanju, kya haal hai? Theek hai na? (How are you? All good?) You played very well in the Indian Premier League, and hit a lot of sixes against Mumbai Indians too! You’re batting really well’ Like there has been a great support from him,” revealed Samson.

Samson, who entered the international cricket scene in 2015 through T20 matches, has played 24 matches, accumulating 374 runs. In ODIs, he has showcased his batting capabilities with 390 runs in 12 innings, boasting an impressive average of 55.71. While his international track record may not be as dazzling, his performances in Indian Premier League (IPL) have been outstanding, featuring in 152 matches and a total of 3888 runs.

The right-handed batsman's most recent international appearance was in the second T20I against Ireland on August 20, where he delivered a notable performance, scoring 40 runs from 26 balls.
