Sanju Samson posts a cryptic message after being left out of India squad for Australia ODIs before World Cup 2023

Sanju Samson didn't find a place in India squad for final rehearsal before the World Cup 2023.

Despite Indian team management deciding to give rest to their premier players just before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, Sanju Samson didn’t find a place in India squad for the three-match ODI series against Australia. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Kuldeep Yadav have been given rest for the first two matches scheduled to be played in Mohali and Indore. Sanju Samson’s selection has been an enigmatic topic in Indian cricket. Wicket-keeper-batter has failed to get consistent games in international cricket.

Sanju Samson has now reacted to his continuous snubbing from the squad and posted a cryptic message on his social media account. Disappointed Samson posted a ‘smiley’ emoji on his Facebook account to showcase his disappointment. Fans are also dejected after team management’s decision. Samson made his ODI debut in 2021 and since then he has played only 13 ODI games out of 45 India played. His ODI average reads above 55.71 in the 12 ODI innings he batted for India. 

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has also made a big statement on Samson’s exclusion from the team. Pathan said that if he was at Samson’s place he would have been disappointed. Pathan tweeted his feelings on Samson’s exclusion, “If I am in place of Sanju Samson right now, I will be really disappointed.”

Team India have recalled Ravichandran Ashwin from the exile in ODI format and he will be part of the 3-match ODI series. Axar Patel is still not fit, team India might be thinking of drafting him as Patel’s replacement in the World Cup squad. Washington Sundar was called in as Axar Patel’s replacement in the Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Sundar is also part of the 3-match ODI series against Australia. Yuzvendra Chahal has been ignored once again and that made a big statement on his ODI future as well. Senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and Kuldeep Yadav will be coming back for the final ODI in Rajkot.
