Indian captain Rohit Sharma once again had a blistering start to his innings and went on to score 48 runs in 40 deliveries with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Everyone is surprised at Rohit's aggressive starts against bowlers. Earlier, he used to take a few overs to set his pace for the innings, now in the World Cup 2023, he is approaching differently and trying to score boundaries from the first ball.

Batting first, Bangladesh had posted 256 runs in 50 overs. Their openers had a wonderful stand of 93 runs in 15 overs, where Tanzid Hasan (51) and Litton Das (66) scored a half-century. Later on, Mushfiqur Rahim (38) and Mahmudullah (46) contributed to their tally. Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah had a wonderful outing in Pune, as he picked up two crucial wickets in his 10 overs.
