Sarfaraz Khan sends strong message to Indian selectors, hammers century for Mumbai in opening game of Buchi Babu Trophy 2025

Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan has sent a strong message to selectors with his marvellous knock in the opening game of Buchi Babu Trophy 2025. Playing for Mumbai, Sarfaraz hammered a century against TNCA XI in the tournament opener.
Mumbai were railing at 98/3 when Sarfaraz came out to bat in the match. The 27-year-old scored an unbeaten 138 runs off 114 deliveries before retiring hurt. He reached his century off 92 deliveries and also etched a 100-run partnership with Aakash Parkar for the sixth wicket.
With him starting the domestic season on a high, the selectors will be keeping an keen eye on him. He would be eager to score big and reclaim his place back in the team for the home season.
Sarfaraz Khan was overlooked for Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy
Notably, the 27-year-old was overlooked by Indian selectors for the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. He was part of the team during Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25, where he did not play a single game.
He last played for India during the home test series against New Zealand in November last year. He has scored 371 runs across six tests at an average of 37.10, with one century and three half-centuries. After missing out on the test series against England, Sarfaraz will be aiming to make a comeback for the home test series against the West Indies in October.

Last month, Sarfaraz shared a photo of his body transformation on social media. Notably, the Mumbai cricketer has lost about 28 kgs during the last few months. His transformation earned him a lot of praise on social media.
Meanwhile, the Buchi Babu Trophy 2025 will conclude on September 9. The winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 3 lakh while the runners-up will get Rs. 2 lakh.
