Sarfaraz Khan reacts emotionally after being snubbed for WI tour

Sarfaraz Khan has smashed 22 fifty plus scores in 54 first-class innings.
Mumbai middle order batter Sarfaraz Khan was once again ignored and failed to make his place in the 16-member squad for the West Indies tour. Despite having staggering numbers in the red-ball format in Indian domestic cricket, he is still waiting for his chance in the Indian team. Team India will be travelling to the West Indies next month in July to play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 5-match T20I series. Now, Sarfaraz himself has come out and reacted to his continuous exclusion from the Indian team. Sarfaraz first posted an Instagram story and then tweeted a video of one of his innings in the Ranji Trophy, where he has averaged more than 90 in the last three seasons.

India going in with 4 openers
Indian fans and former cricketers have come forward to defend Sarfaraz and questioned Indian selectors decision making. Sarfaraz Khan has been a consistent performer in the Ranji Trophy. Indian selectors have preferred Ruturaj Gaikwad over Sarfaraz Khan in the squad over Sarfaraz. Team India have opted for 4 opening batters in the squad and one of them will bat at number 3. Sarfaraz Khan would have been an option for the middle order. Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer also batted for Sarfaraz’s inclusion and raised concern over Team India going with 4 openers. Wasim said, “Instead of 4 openers, they could have picked Sarfaraz Khan to honour his consistent domestic performance”.
Sarfaraz Khan has batted with an average of 92.66 and scored 556 runs in 9 innings. The 25-year-old right-hand batter has smashed 13 centuries in his 54 first-class innings. In 35 red-ball games, he has scored 3505 runs at a staggering average of 79.65, while scoring 22 fifty-plus scores. Sarfaraz’s average in the 2019-20, 2021-22 season was above 100 and since then he has been scoring heavily for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. Team India will start their campaign against West Indies with a test match at Windsor Park in Dominica on 12th July.
