Sarfaraz Khan and Shoaib Bashir were involved in a healthy banter on day 2 of the Ranchi test.

A funny moment occurred between Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan and England’s off-spinner Shoaib Bashir during the ongoing fourth test match at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Saturday, which brought a smile to everyone’s faces.

Middle-order batter Sarfaraz Khan had a dream debut for India in the third test against England in Rajkot. The 24-year-old batter scored a fifties in both innings, helping India to a comfortable victory and taking a lead by 2-1.

Sarfaraz Khan had been in good form in domestic cricket for some time, and he was finally given his hard earned chance at the international level. After making his debut against England in Rajkot, he showed why he is regarded as one of the best batters in the Indian domestic circuit.

Meanwhile, England’s young 20-year-old off-spinner Shoaib Bashir made his debut in the second test at Visakhapatnam, where he took a 3/138 and a 1/58 in that match.

‘Isko Hindi nahi aati:’ Sarfaraz Khan and Shoaib Bashir’s cheeky interaction caught on stump mic

As England bowler Shoaib Bashir came in to bat at the fall of Ollie Robinson’s wicket on day 2 of the fourth test between India and England, Indian player Sarfaraz Khan, who was fielding at silly point, said “Arre yar, isse pata hai kuch kaisa khelna hai? Isse Hindi nahi aati hai, badhiya chalo (Does he even know how to play? He doesn’t know Hindi as well. Come on guys).”

However, England batter Shoaib Bashir knew what Sarfaraz Khan was saying, and in response, he replied “Thodi thodi aati hai (I know it little bit).”

However, England batter Bashir could only last a couple of balls as he was dismissed by Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for a duck. The 20-year-old Shoaib Bashir went for a wild swing across the line against Jadeja’s delivery, and all he managed to get was a leading edge that was safely caught by Indian fielder Rajat Paitdar at backward point.

Resuming the day 2’s play at 302 for 7, Ollie Robinson went on to score his maiden test half-century in 81 balls. Robinson and Joe Root’s partnership went past the 100-run mark for the eighth wicket, which helped the visitors post 352 runs in the first innings. In reply, the hosts lost captain Rohit Sharma before lunch on day 2.
