Scotland Schedule for ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Fixtures, Dates, Venues

Scotland will take on the West Indies in their opening game of ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
After a long wait, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has finally provided clarity on the long-standing issue surrounding Bangladesh’s availability, confirming that Scotland will replace them at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) declined to participate under the published schedule.
Bangladesh remained adamant in their stance to not play in India, citing security concerns. Despite repeated assurances from the ICC and the completion of independent security assessments, the two parties failed to reach an agreement, ultimately forcing the governing body to take the difficult decision to replace them.
As revealed earlier, the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 will be a 20-team event, starting on February 7 and running until March 8. This will be only the second time in the tournament’s history that 20 teams will compete, with the format remaining unchanged from the previous edition.
The league stage will be followed by the Super Eight phase, culminating in the semi-finals and the final. With the tournament set to take place in the Asian subcontinent (India and Sri Lanka), Scotland will enter as clear dark horses and will likely need something special to qualify from a challenging group.
They last featured in the T20 World Cup 2024, where they impressed with a memorable run that included wins over Namibia and Oman, along with a near-upset against Australia. Scotland also showed promise against England in that campaign, before rain ultimately forced the match to be abandoned.
Scotland replace Bangladesh in Group C of ICC T20 World Cup 2026

The ICC’s decision to replace Bangladesh came as a welcome boost for Scotland, who now find themselves in Group C alongside West Indies, England, Nepal, and Italy.
While England and the West Indies enter as clear favourites, Scotland cannot be taken lightly, as they will look to seize this unexpected opportunity and position themselves as potential upset-makers in a competitive group.
Scotland will open their campaign against the West Indies on February 7 in Kolkata. Their next clash will be against Italy at the same venue on February 9. On February 14, they will take on England and then after that, they will move to Mumbai to take on Nepal in their last league game on February 17.
