England’s middle-order batter Harry Brook to miss the test series against India.

England have suffered a big setback ahead of the test series against India starting from 25th January. Middle-order batter Harry Brook will be flying back home. Brook will be heading to England due to some personal reasons. ECB will be announcing Brook’s replacement soon.

Harry Brook was part of English camp in Dubai preparing for India tour. Brook didn’t travel to India with English side. England team will land in Hyderabad on Sunday for the upcoming five-match test series against India. Team India have already arrived in Hyderabad for the first test on Thursday while English side preferred Dubai as their venue of preparation.

Harry Brook pulls out of test series in India due to personal reasons

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in a statement said, “Harry Brook is set to return home with immediate effect for personal reasons from the England Men’s Test tour of India. He will not be returning to India. The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this time. n light of this, the ECB and the family kindly request the media and the public to respect their wish for privacy and refrain from intruding on their private space.”

Currently, Harry Brook flew back home and decided to skip the entire five-match test series in India. Brook can still set a date for comeback in the upcoming series which will be played till March 2024. ECB also informed that they will be confirming a replacement player of Harry Brook in due course.

Yorkshire born right hand batter has played 12 test matches for England so far and scored 1181 runs at an average of 62.15, he also smashed four centuries and seven half-centuries in his 20 test innings so far. Harry Brook is known for his counter attacking approach in the middle-order and would have played a key role for England on rank turners.
