Pakistan ace speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi and his wife Ansha, who is the daughter of legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi, have been blessed with a baby boy. The couple have named their son Aliyar.

Ansha gave birth to their child on Saturday while the seamer was playing in the Rawalpindi test against Bangladesh.

After becoming a father, Shaheen Afridi might miss the second match of the two-match test series against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. The second test will be played from August 30 to September 3.

As Shaheen Afridi became a father, he might request the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to release him from the test squad for the second test match against Bangladesh.

However, the PCB has yet to make any official statement about their pacer’s availability.

Recently, on Shaheen’s availability for the second test match, Pakistan test cricket team coach Jason Gillespie stated that the pacer could miss the second test for personal reasons.

“Shaheen can miss the Bangladesh Test matches due to childbirth. We can give him some rest if he chooses to stay with his wife during this time,” Gillespie had said.

In the ongoing first test, the host declared their innings at 448 runs after wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan played a crucial knock of 171* runs. In reply, Bangladesh were bundled out for 565 runs after veteran cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim scored 191 runs.
