Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim fly back to home after defeat against SL in Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan and wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim have flown back to Bangladesh.
Bangladesh are on the verge of being knocked out of Asia Cup 2023 super 4 round. They have lost two of their last four games and are left to play against India on September 15. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan and wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim have returned to Dhaka for a three-days leave. Bangladesh played their last game against Sri Lanka in Colombo on Saturday and are scheduled to play their next against India on Friday. With almost a week's gap, two of the senior-most Bangladesh players have flown back to Dhaka.
Bangladesh cricket board’s cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus has informed the press that Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim have both arrived in Dhaka due to some personal reasons. Both of these senior guys are expected to join Bangladesh camp on Wednesday, September 13th, in Colombo. Mushfiqur Rahim has returned to be with his wife as the couple is expecting their second child. According to sources, Shakib Al Hasan wanted to spend time with his family, and that is why he arrived in Dhaka.
Bangladesh skipper was not too pleased with his side's performance in the super 4 games against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They almost had the game in hand against Sri Lanka on Saturday, but they failed to give it a finishing touch. Disappointed Shakib Al Hasan said after the game that this tournament came in as a reality check for them before ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan in the league round and have failed to win against Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurasingha announced a three-days leave for players as they had nothing to do in their schedule. Coach Hathurusingha wants his players to reflect on the disappointing campaign so far in Asia Cup tournament. After Asia Cup 2023, Bangladesh are scheduled to play a three-match ODI series against New Zealand starting on the 21st of September. After that, they will travel to India and take part in ICC Cricket World Cup.
