Shikhar Dhawan birthday: Wishes flow on social media as former Indian opener turns 38 today

India opener Shikhar Dhawan is celebrating his 38th birthday today on December 5, 2023. The left-hander from Delhi featured in 34 tests, 167 ODIs, and 88 T20Is for India from 2010 to 2022. He also captained India in both ODIs and T20Is.
Dhawan had made his ODI debut in 2010 and T20I debut in 2011. But he had to wait till 2013 to make his test debut, which came against Australia. He scored a brilliant 187 runs, which remains the highest score by an Indian on test debut.
In 34 tests, Dhawan made 2315 runs with 7 centuries and 5 fifties with a best score of 190. In ODIs, the left-hander accumulated 6793 runs at an average of 44.11 and 17 centuries to his name, with a best score of 143. He also made 1759 runs in T20Is with a best score of 92.
Shikhar Dhawan turns 38
Shikhar Dhawan won the best batter award in Indiaโs 2013 Champions Trophy victory and played in the 2015 and 2019 50-over World Cups.
Apart from international cricket, Dhawan excelled in Indian Premier League as well, playing for franchises like Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad, and is currently captaining Punjab Kings.
He has played 217 matches with 6617 runs. His highest score is 106* and he has hit 2 centuries and 50 half-centuries with a strike rate of 127.80. Dhawan was the first batter in IPL history to score back-to-back centuries and has been a stalwart of the best T20 league in the world.
