Shikhar Dhawan and Sophie Shine have been dating each other since last year.
Former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan confirmed his engagement to longtime girlfriend Sophie Shine on Monday, January 12. The former Indian captain made the revelation in an official post on Instagram.
The couple has been dating each other for the last few years. Last year in May, they made their relationship to the public. This came after Dhawan and Sophie were seen together watching the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 match in Dubai.
Sophie was also seen attending Dhawan’s matches in Indian Premier League (IPL) for Punjab Kings (PBKS) when the latter was active in the tournament. She was seen cheering for the former Indian opener from the stands, catching the attention of many cricket fans.

In the official post shared by Dhawan on Instagram, the couple held each other’s hands and showed their engagement rings.
Captioning the post, Dhawan wrote: “From shared smiles to shared dreams. Grateful for the love, the blessings and every good wish for our engagement as we choose togetherness forever”. -Shikhar & Sophie”.
Notably, Sophie is an Irish national who is a product consultant at Northern Trust Corporation in Abu Dhabi, as per her LinkedIn profile. It is a US-based financial services firm. She completed her graduation from Limerick Institute of Technology and holds a degree in Marketing and Management.
Meanwhile, Dhawan retired from all forms of international and Indian cricket in August 2024. He is one of the best openers to play for India, representing the national team in 34 tests, 167 ODIs, and 68 T20Is.
Last year, he played in tournament likes Canada Super 60 and World Championship of Legends. Recently, he released his autobiography titled “The One: Cricket, My Life and More”, sharing his cricketing journey and personal struggles.
