Shivam Dube credits MS Dhoni for India comeback, recalls Dhoni's advice
Shivam Dube is part of India’s squad for the Ireland tour as well as the Asian Games.
All-rounder Shivam Dube has been added to India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match Ireland T20 series. Shivam Dube has been rewarded for his consistent performance since the IPL 2023. Dube played a pivotal role in Chennai Super Kings’ 5th title win in the Indian Premier League. The 6 feet tall all-rounder made a big name for himself in power-hitting as CSK skipper MS Dhoni briefed him about his role very well. Dube smashed 35 sixes in 16 games for Chennai Super Kings and was CSK’s leading six-hitter in the season.

He continued his form even after the IPL and played a few crucial knocks for West Zone in the ongoing Deodhar Trophy. In a video uploaded by BCCI, Shivam Dube talks about upgrades on his game and how Dhoni helped him, Shivam Dube said, “I can’t express everything (Dhoni helped me with). I have upgraded my game. I got to know how to finish the game, how to be in the situation, how to tackle the bowlers, that all things are more important and many things are there but can not express all the things”.
He revealed that he got big tips from MS Dhoni and added, “I got some big tips. He told me to play till the end and try to finish the game. You can win many matches from your batting, so keep believing in yourself”. Shivam Dube helped West Zone chase down 260 runs target against North Zone with his unbeaten 83 runs knock. Dube smashed 83 runs in 78 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes. He stitched a 138 runs stand along with Kathan Patel (63) for the fifth wicket.
Dube will be representing India in the upcoming India tour of Ireland for the three-match T20 series. India vs Ireland T20 series will begin on 18th August at The Village ground in Malahide. Dube got the reward for his match-winning 83 run knock for West Zone in the Deodhar Trophy just one day after the magnificent innings. Dube will also be representing India in the upcoming Asian Games event in China. These two T20I tours will pave the way for Dube to cement his place in the Indian T20I side.
