Shivam Dube was part of 37 T20I wins in a row for India before India’s defeat against Australia in Melbourne.
Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube’s winning streak in T20I cricket, which ran for almost six years, ended on Friday, October 31, after the Indian Cricket Team lost to Australia Cricket Team in second T20I of the five-match series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne. The Men in Blue lost the clash by four wickets as Mitchell Marsh & Co. earned a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
After Australian captain Marsh won the toss and opted to bowl first, India suffered a shocking batting collapse at the start, losing five wickets for just 49 runs. However, opener Abhishek Sharma scored a hard-fought fifty, hitting 68 runs to take the team total to 125 runs.
Dube walked out to bat in the 15th over after pacer Harshit Rana was sent ahead of him. The 32-year-old failed to make a mark, losing his wicket for just four runs off two balls. Later, the Indian all-rounder did not bowl a single over as Australia chased down the target within 14 overs.
Notably, India lost a T20I match at the MCG 17 long years, with their last defeat coming in February 2008 against Australia. Over the years, India have faced Australia in seven T20I games at the stadium, winning four, losing two, while one ended without result.

The first two defeats came at the start of his career in November and December 2019. Since India’s victory against the West Indies on 11 December 2019, he remained unbeaten in the shortest format across 37 games. The Men in Blue won 34 games of these, while three games were washed out due to rain.
