IND vs ENG: [Watch] Shoaib Bashir stops Yashasvi Jaiswal from hammering another 200; Castles him for 73 in 4th test

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 73 runs in the first innings of Ranji test before falling to Shoaib Bashir.

England have bounced back nicely in Ranchi after losing last two tests in Visakhapatnam and Rajkot. Ranchi’s crumbling wicket is giving them a golden chance stay alive in the ongoing five-match test series. Young English off-spinner Shoaib Bashir has bowled a magnificent spell and pushed India back on the second day of the fourth test match at the JSCA Cricket Stadium in Ranchi.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was running in red-hot form and scored two consecutive double centuries in last two tests. Jaiswal was marching towards yet another test ton but Shoaib Bashir ran through his defence. In the first innings, England scored 353 runs before getting all-out, while for India, Jaiswal was the only batter looking in good touch.

Bashir castles ‘JaisBall’

Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal kept one end intact with his concentration. He was looking comfortable during his stay at the crease, but his one mistake allowed England to bounce back one more time in the series. Shoaib Bashir is bowling extremely well and so far he has taken four wickets in his spell. Jaiswal was completely deceived by the low bounce at JSCA wicket.

In 47th over, Sarfaraz Khan and Yashasvi Jaiswal were looking to increase the scoring rate, but the Indian opener lost his concentration for just a fraction of second against Shoaib Bashir and he was dismissed for 73 runs. Bashir pitched one on the middle stump which left Jaiswal in a little uncomfortable position as the ball turned for bit but didn’t bounce as much as the Indian batter expected.

Yashasvi Jaiswal inside edged it onto his off-stumps. He smacked 8 fours and one six during his stay at the crease for 73 runs. Indian top-order didn’t looked comfortable against Shoaib Bashir. English off-spinner got Shubman Gill (38), Rajat Patidar (17) and Ravindra Jadeja (12) early in the innings. Sarfaraz Khan also got dismissed for just 14 runs by Tom Hartley. Currently, India are under pressure at 171 for 6.
