Shreyas Iyer slammed a brilliant fifty for India in the second ODI against Australia in Adelaide.

Indian Cricket Team vice-captain Shreyas Iyer was sensational in the field during the ongoing third ODI against the Australian Cricket Team. The last game of the three-match series between both the sides is currently underway at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney on Saturday, October 25.

India, who were asked to field first in the game, came up with a much-improved bowling effort than in the last two games. Pacers as well as spinners chipped in at crucial stages, putting Australia under massive pressure.

To complement that, fielders also played their part in the match and one of the eye-catching efforts came from vice-captain Shreyas Iyer. The right-hander came up with a sensational diving catch to remove Alex Carey, who was looking good with the bat.

On the fourth ball of the 34th over, Harshit Rana bowled a short of length outside off, to which Alex Carey threw his bat at it. He ended up slicing it a long way up in the air and it seemed that the ball would land safely but Shreyas Iyer came up with a magical effort

Iyer turned around and ran back from the backward point. He timed his jumps perfectly and held onto it even as the ball slipped out a bit. He fell awkwardly to his left side and injured his left hip.

Shreyas Iyer looked in pain as the physio was attending to him. However, he wasn’t fit enough to carry on and left the field. If the injury appears to be serious, this could come as a big blow for India as he was the key batter for India in the last game, hitting 61 runs under pressure.

So far, there hasn’t been any official confirmation on Shreyas Iyer. But, with the way he left the field, things looked serious. It remains to be seen if he comes out to bat in the second innings or not.
