Shreyas Iyer is a professional cricketer who has represented the Indian Cricket Team at the highest level across all three formats. But before making it to the national team in 2017, the Mumbai-born star proved his worth in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Shreyas Iyer made his IPL debut in 2015 for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and played with the franchise until 2021, leading the team in the 2018, 2019 and 2020 seasons. Later, he joined Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and led them in the 2022 and 2024 editions. His evolution from anchor to dasher has been a treat to watch. However, in 2025, he joined Punjab Kings (PBKS) and has been doing a fantastic job here as well, with his batting as well as his leadership.

5. 87* vs MI, Ahmedabad, 2025
One of the best knocks for Shreyas Iyer came in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2025 when his team, PBKS, were under pressure in a 204-run chase. After a couple of early wickets, Iyer came to the crease and went on to play a match-winning knock of an unbeaten 87 off 41 balls, with five fours and eight sixes.
His innings helped PBKS chase the target with five wickets as they made it to their second IPL final. This was a counterattacking knock against a strong MI attack, and it was the first time that MI failed to defend 200+ total in the IPL.
4. 88* vs KKR, 2020, Sharjah
Shreyas Iyer led DC to the final of the 2020 edition, and he was unstoppable in that season. He played a match-winning knock against the KKR in Sharjah. It was a high-scoring game; DC batted first and posted a total of 228/4.
Iyer smashed a 26-ball fifty and made an unbeaten 88 off 38 balls, with seven fours and six sixes, at a strike rate of 231.57. DC restricted KKR to 210/8 and won the game by 18 runs. Iyer won the Player of the Match award.
3. 93* vs KKR, 2018, Delhi
The third-highest score for Shreyas Iyer in the IPL came in 2018 against KKR in Delhi. The right-hander came to bat at No. 3 and slammed a 29-ball fifty. Once he completed his fifty, he accelerated more.
He went on to score an unbeaten 93 off 40 balls, with three fours and 10 sixes. He scored 43 off his last 11 balls. DC made 219/4, and KKR only reached 164/9, losing by 55 runs.
2. 96 vs GL, 2017, Kanpur
Shreyas Iyer’s second-highest IPL score came for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) against the now-defunct Gujarat Lions. It came in the 2017 edition in Kanpur. It was a crucial knock as the Delhi-based franchise were chasing a big target of 196. DD lost two early wickets for just 15 runs, which brought Iyer to the crease.
Then, he played a counter-attacking knock and scored a 33-ball 50. He scored 96 runs off 57 balls, with 15 fours and two sixes. He was unlucky to miss the hundred but helped DD to reach 197/8 and win the game.
1. 97* vs GT, 2025, Ahemdabad
Shreyas Iyer posted his highest IPL score on his captaincy debut for PBKS. It was the game against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium, and Iyer went on to play a blistering knock. He completed his fifty in just 27 balls.
But after that, he went all guns blazing and ended up scoring an unbeaten 97 off 42 balls, with five fours and nine sixes. PBKS finished with a massive score of 243/5 and won by 11 runs.
