India middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer is out of the cricketing action for last 4 months.

Team India got some recent respite from the big injury list as batter Shreyas Iyer has returned to the field and has started batting in the nets. He has returned to the nets after spending rehabilitation time at National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

Shreyas Iyer is one of the mainstays in India's limited-overs cricket. Iyer announced his comeback in the nets as he uploaded of him batting in the nets at NCA on his Instagram. Indian fans were expecting one of Shreyas Iyer or Jasprit Bumrah to be back in the squad for Asia Cup in September

The 28-year-old batter was out of the cricketing action for the last 4 months. Iyer underwent surgery in London in April on his lower back and was spending his time in NCA for rehabilitation. Iyer's last game was in Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year in March.

Iyer also missed out on Indian Premier League for Kolkata Knight Riders, Nitish Rana was appointed KKR's interim captain replacing Shreyas Iyer. In the video, Iyer was trying to hit big shots and bring back himself in the groove for upcoming big events. Along with Shreyas Iyer, pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is also at NCA.

Team India are again struck with a number 4 conundrum in the middle order after Iyer's fitness issues. Shreyas Iyer is still not fully fit and not fully ruled out for the two upcoming big events starting with Asia Cup in September and then 50-over Cricket World Cup in October-November in India. Shreyas Iyer's return to the playing eleven will mark India's balance in the playing XI. There are two more big injuries in Indian cricket as Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant are still in rehabilitation.
