Shubman Gill scored 269 runs in the first innings of the Edgbaston test.

The Indian Cricket Team and the England Cricket Team are facing off each other in the second test of the five-match series at Edgbaston, Birmingham. During the match, Shubman Gill achieved a massive feat as he became the ninth Indian batsman to score 300+ runs in a test match.

In the first innings, the Indian skipper smacked a stunning double century. With 30 fours and three sixes, he scored 269 runs off 387 deliveries. With his brilliant knock, India piled up a mammoth total of 587/10 in the first innings.

Later, Gill returned with a half-century in the second innings, becoming the ninth Indian batsman to smash more than 300 runs in a test match. Gill joined the likes of former batting legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and Virender Sehwag for the record.
