India T20I vice-captain Shubman Gill is expected to check in at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) this week for fitness tests ahead of the Asia Cup 2025. According to reports by The Times of India, the test captain recently underwent blood tests, and his report came normal, which will be a big boost for the team.

Shubman Gill is going to complete his recovery soon. He is currently in Mohali and will reportedly miss the opening round of the Duleep Trophy 2025 due to illness.

The right-handed batsman was going to lead North Zone in the opening game. However, after his ouster, vice-captain Ankit Kumar will lead the side. Gill will now be gearing up for the Asia Cup 2025, which will commence on September 9.
