Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma check-in at BCCI's CoE for fitness tests

Shubman Gill will be India’s vice-captain in Asia Cup 2025.
Senior Indian cricketers have checked in at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru on Saturday, August 30, for fitness tests. According to reports by Times of India, India test captain Shubman Gill, ODI skipper Rohit Sharma, senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah, and all-rounder Shardul Thakur are a few players who reached BCCI’s CoE on Saturday.
Notably, Gill and Bumrah are both part of India squad for Asia Cup 2025. Gill will be Suryakumar Yadav’s deputy for the tournament, while Bumrah will lead the team’s pace attack. Recently, Gill was ruled out of the opening first round of Duleep Trophy 2025-26 due to an illness.
Notably, many Indian players have visited BCCI’s CoE recently for fitness tests. Nitish Kumar Reddy is currently undergoing rehabilitation for a knee injury at the BCCI’s facility in Bengaluru.
Rohit will start his preparation for India’s white-ball series against Australia in October-November. He is expected to lead the team in the three-match ODI series in October during the tour. He might also play for India A in a three-match ODI series against Australia A.
Indian squad to reach Dubai on September 4

According to reports, India squad for Asia Cup 2025 will reach Dubai on September 4. Notably, the players will fly to Dubai from their respective cities. The Men in Blue will start their practice on September 5.
The Indian team will be busy with Asia Cup 2025 next month, which will be played from September 9 to 28. India will play their first match of the tournament against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 10. They are placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, UAE, and Oman.
