Shubman Gill slammed his maiden double ton in test cricket.
Indian Cricket Team captain Shubman Gill came up with a sensational effort with the bat in the ongoing second test against the England Cricket Team. The match between the two teams is taking place at Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Shubman Gill has led the visitors from the front in the second game of the series as well. After slamming a magnificent ton in the first game at Headingly in Leeds, the skipper has doubled that effort in the ongoing game, putting his team in a dominating position.
Shubman Gill has been sensational with the bat as he has played with complete control and has put England under massive pressure. The captain first hit a sensational ton and then walked the talk after he said that he was disappointed not to score big, even after scoring 147 in the first game.
Shubman Gill looked fresh even after his ton and hit his first 150-plus score to register his highest score in the longest format of the game. However, the hunger to score runs didn’t stop there for him as he then went on to hit his maiden double ton in the longest format of the game.
Shubman Gill, with this, became the first Asian test captain to score a double hundred in SENA countries. He also became the Indian captain with the highest score in the longest format of the game in English conditions.
Shubman Gill is also the leading run-getter in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy as he became the first player to go past 300 runs. His terrific innings with the bat has powered India to a total of over 500 runs.
