During the pre-match press conference of The Oval test, Indian skipper Gill said that Arshdeep Singh has been asked to get ready for the encounter. However, he added that India will pick their playing XI after analysing the pitch.

“Arshdeep Singh has been asked to get ready but we will take a call on the Playing XI after looking at the pitch, by this evening. England haven’t picked a frontline spinner… we have Jadeja and Washi to do the job”, he said.

Meanwhile, England lead the series 2-1 and need to either win or draw the final encounter to win the series. India will leave no stone unturned to win the next clash and end the series in a draw. They showed a wonderful batting performance in the previous game to end the match in a draw.

Earlier, England won the first test by five wickets while India made a comeback in the second test to grab victory by 336 runs. England won the third test by 22 runs in a nail-biting clash. The fourth test ended in a draw.

Gill has shown an incredible form in the series with four centuries across eight innings. With 722 runs, he is the leading run-getter in the series. Stokes is the top wicket-taker with 17 scalps.
