The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is known as an influential and the most wealthiest governing body in the cricket world. One of the celebrated events in the calendar year of the BCCI are the NAMAN Awards.

Established in 2006, the awards highlight individual and team performances right from international cricket to age category across various formats. The BCCI Naman Awards for the year 2025-26 will be held on March 15 in New Dehli and will see some of the best performers getting accolades for their heroics in last season.

Derived from the Hindi name ‘Naman’, meaning bowing down or giving respect, the awards truly rewards the excellent performances and highlights overall contribution to Indian Cricket.

For the 2026 Naman Awards, the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to the former Indian skipper and coach Rahul Dravid, as per the reports in Indian Express. Nicknamed ‘The Wall,’ he retired with more than 10,000 runs in ODIs. However, it was in Test matches that Dravid was most successful, scoring heavily on home and away pitches.

Rahul Dravid took up the role of commenting on matches after retiring as an Indian cricketer in 2012. Then after that, he picked up the coaching role and worked at the grassroots level at BCCI’s NCA. He was also coach of India Under-19 team that won the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2018. The team consisted of the likes of Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw, Arshdeep Singh. During that time, Dravid was also the coach of the India A team.

Dravid later took up the role of the senior Indian team coach in 2021, replacing Ravi Shastri. Under Dravid’s leadership, the India were the runners-up in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, and also went on to win the T20 Cricket World Cup 2024.
