Shubman Gill won the IPL 2022 with Gujarat Titans.

India and Gujarat Titans (GT) batter Shubman Gill has named legend Sachin Tendulkar as his dream opening partner. This came in a question and Answers (Q&A) conversation on JioCinema.

Shubman Gill has turned a new leaf in his IPL career since joining the Gujarat Titans side in IPL 2022 when the debutants became the IPL champions in their inaugural edition itself. Gill made his IPL debut in 2018 for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he batted from no.6 to open the innings.

In a Q&A interaction at Jio cinema, when asked who would be his dream opening pair, he answered that he wanted to open with Sachin Tendulkar.

Shubman in this year's IPL has scored 228 in six matches with an average of 32.74 comprising two fifties. He has the best score of 67 and has a strike rate of 138.18.

In the same Q&A session, Shubman Gill was also asked to share his favorite IPL moment. And the opener revealed that his favorite moment was “when GT won the maiden title of IPL last year."

When he was asked to describe Hardik Pandya's captaincy in one word, he said that Pandya's captaincy is electric. Under his leadership in IPL 2022, GT won ten matches out of 14 in the league stage.

Currently, Gujarat is in the fourth position with four wins after playing six matches. They have lost only two matches against Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals respectively.

In their previous match, GT defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 7 runs in a brilliant win. Defending 136 runs and despite a 68-run knock by LSG captain KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, and co. remained calm to keep LSG to 128/7 and won the match.

Hardik had earlier scored 66 runs in GT’s innings.
