Shubman Gill was the leading run-getter in ENG vs IND series.

Indian Cricket Team‘s test captain Shubman Gill had an England tour to remember, as in his first assignment as the skipper, he proved his mettle. The young batter led from the front and ensured that he started a new chapter in his career on a high.

Shubman Gill ended the series as the leading run-getter with 754 runs to his name. The premier batter also slammed four centuries, including a double ton, and created many records with his flawless batting on the tour, putting the opposition under pressure.

Shubman Gill was also magnificent as a leader, as he made sure that he brought the best out of his team. What caught the attention of many was that even when India were under pressure, he stayed calm and found a way to bail his team out of trouble.

While his heroics with the bat was one for everyone to see, he also became the crowd’s favourite. This is because his test jersey, which he wore during the third game at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, was auctioned for INR 5.41 lakhs.

The jerseys of the Indian players, along with signed shirts and caps from players on both sides, portraits, bats, hospitality tickets, among other items, were sold in the Budds auction under the lot dedicated to the Red For Ruth charity. Along with Shubman Gill, other Indian players’ things also fetched good amounts.

Gill, renowned for his graceful stroke play and calm temperament, is one of the brightest talents in world cricket.
