SL vs IND Day 4 session timings for Galle Test, India’s tour of Sri Lanka 2026

Sri Lanka gave a tough fight to India on day three of SL vs IND Test in Galle.

After having a poor two days in the field, Sri Lanka made a slight comeback on the third day of the first Test at Galle International Stadium in Galle.

India couldn’t add much to their overnight total of 460 for nine as they managed just two runs on the third day. Prabath Jayasuriya was the pick of the bowlers as he picked four wickets while Keshara Nuwantha and Asitha Fernando bagged three and two scalps, respectively.

Sri Lanka, however, didn’t have a great start with the bat as Mohammed Siraj removed Nishan Fernando for a duck in the first over. The wickets kept falling after that even though Lahiru Udara (27) and captain Dhananjaya de Silva (21) showed some fightback but couldn’t hold their ground for long.

With Sri Lanka reeling at 90 for five, it seemed that India would almost enforce a follow-on. However, that wasn’t the case as Niroshan Dickwella (80) and Sonal Dinusha (100) led the fightback and put India under prsssure.

The Dickwella-Dinusha duo added 146 runs for six wickets. Dinusha slammed his maiden century, and thanks to his effort, Sri Lanka posted 284, trailing by 178. For India, Manav Suthar was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets.
