SL vs IND: Who are India's new net bowlers for Sri Lanka Test series?

India have intensified their preparations for the series against Sri Lanka.
India are all set to begin another important overseas tour as it prepares for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka. The SL vs IND Test series will start from August 15, 2026, in Galle. This series will be crucial for India’s campaign in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle.
Spinners are expected to get significant assistance in Sri Lanka, so India have already started working on their plan before the clash. Senior players like KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal were recently seen training against spin.
The selectors have rewarded three young players who performed well in domestic cricket by allowing them to travel with the Indian Test squad for the Sri Lanka tour. It will be a two-match Test series between Sri Lanka and India; Shubman Gill will be leading the squad, while KL Rahul will be his deputy for the tour.
Tanush Kotian, Harsh Dubey and Vipraj Nigam named as Net Bowlers
According to Cricbuzz reports, Tanush Kotian, Harsh Dubey and Vipraj Nigam have been selected to travel with Team India as net bowlers for the upcoming SL vs IND Test. They will assist the Indian batsmen during practice sessions so that they can better adapt to the local conditions.
Another young spinner, Shivang Kumar, is also expected to be part of the support group. The Indian team management is considering all spin-related options, giving India’s batters the chance to face left-arm orthodox spin, off-spin, leg-spin and left-arm wrist spin during the series.
Tanush Kotian has been one of Mumbai’s standout performers in domestic cricket while Harsh Dubey had a brilliant Ranji Trophy season for Vidarbha, finishing among the tournament’s leading wicket-takers.
Meanwhile, Vipraj Nigam continues his rapid growth in Indian cricket, from grabbing attention in the IPL to the India A tour of Sri Lanka, and now he will be part of the support group in the SL vs IND Tests.
