Smriti Mandhana finally breaks her silence; Confirms calling off marriage with Palash Muchhal

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were to get married on November 23 in Sangli.

Smriti Mandhana, the Indian women’s cricket team’s vice-captain, broke her silence on December 7, 2025, and stated that her wedding to music composer-singer Palash Muchhal had been called off.

Their mehendi, haldi, and sangeet photos and videos became viral on the internet. They intended to marry on November 23, 2025, in Sangli. The celebration had to be postponed indefinitely since Smriti’s father suffered a serious medical emergency and was taken to the hospital on the morning of the wedding. 

Since then, several theories have emerged concerning the wedding and whether it will take place.

Smriti Mandhana, however, dispelled all rumors when she confirmed that she and Palash Muchhal would not be getting married on social media by posting a story on Instagram.

“Over the past few weeks there has been plenty of speculation around my life, and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person, and I would like to keep it that way, but I need to clarify that the wedding is called off.

I would like to close this matter here and implore all of you to do the same. I request you to please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us the space to process and move on at our own pace.

I believe there is a higher purpose driving us all, and for me that has always been representing my country at the highest level. I hope to continue to play and win trophies for India for as long as possible, and that is where my focus will forever be. Thank you for all your support. It’s time to move forward.” Mandhana posted on Instagram.

Palash Muchhal threatens legal action against people defaming him

In addition to Mandhana, Palash Muchhal confirmed the cancellation of the wedding and asked for privacy in a social media post. Additionally, he vowed to have his staff take legal action against anyone who shared libelous content.

In the aftermath, Palash Muchhal was also hospitalized to a Mumbai hospital due to medical issues. Given the unexpected health crisis, the wedding was postponed indefinitely.

But now it seems that the wedding has been called off completely with mutual agreement from both sides.
