Sourav Ganguly retired from international cricket in 2008.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly turned 53 years old on July 8. He is considered one of the best batters to play for the Indian Cricket Team. Ganguly was also known as an aggressive captain, who led India to the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003.

The left-handed batsman made his international debut in an ODI against the West Indies in 1992. He played 311 ODI games during his career, smacking 11,363 runs at an average of 40.73. He hammered 22 centuries and 72 fifties in ODIs. He is the third-highest run-scorer for India in ODIs.

Ganguly was quite effective in the tests, too. He played 113 tests and piled up 7212 runs in 188 innings at an average of 42.18. He smacked 16 centuries and 35 half-centuries in his test career. He played his last international game in 2008, representing India for 16 years.

During his career, Ganguly led India in 146 ODIs, out of which India won 76 games and lost 65 matches. Under his leadership, India won 21 matches and lost 13 games out of 49 tests. Some of Ganguly’s batting records are still unbroken in international cricket.

On that note, below are five records of Ganguly that are still unbroken.
