South Africa break England's record for most sixes in a single edition of ICC Cricket World Cup

South Africa have smashed 82 sixes in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 so far.

South Africa have been one of the most consistent sides in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 winning five of their six league games so far. They look in a comfortable position once again in the tournament. Against New Zealand in Pune, South Africa posted 357 runs on the board with a splendid batting performance from wicket-keeper batter Quinton De Kock (114) and Rassie van der Dussen (133). 

South Africa are going nicely in the tournament with their newly adopted aggressive batting approach. South Africa have been the most destructive batting unit in the World Cup 2023 with their batters on an absolute rampage against bowlers. South Africa smashed 15 sixes in their innings against the Kiwis in Pune. They have also become the leading team to smash the most number of sixes in one edition of Cricket World Cup.

South Africa broke England’s record of hitting the most number of sixes in one edition of Cricket World Cup. South Africa have smashed 82 sixes so far in the tournament and they have two more league-round games left in their bank. They are certain of qualification for the semi-final and they can easily go over the three-figure mark in this edition. England had smashed 76 sixes in the previous edition in 2019, where they emerged as champions. 

The Proteas began their campaign against Sri Lanka in Delhi and they hit 15 balls out of the park. Then in Lucknow against Australia, South Africa hit 8 sixes. Against the Netherlands, they managed to hit only 5 sixes. After that game, they picked up the pace and smashed 13 against England, 19 against Bangladesh, 8 against Pakistan and 15 against New Zealand to reach a total of 82 sixes in 7 innings. They have scored 350 plus totals on four occasions. 

The Australian team is also running behind as they are currently 5th in the table with 61 big shots in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Australians are also going strong in the batting and soon they will be challenging South Africa in this record. New Zealand are now 3 wickets down in 11 overs against South Africa. New Zealand need one more win to secure their place in the top 4 round. New Zealand have got 8 points in the table.
