South Africa to face Australia before they fly to India for World Cup 2023.

Just after playing a three-match T20I and five-match ODI series against Australia at home, South Africans will fly to India. South Africa are in the quest for their first ICC Cricket World Cup title in their cricket history. The proteas squad are considered to be one of the favorites for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. With a battery of pace bowlers and a magnificent batting order, South Africans are looking for a great challenger for everyone in the mega event. Compared to the others, South Africans have time to regroup after their bilateral series ends. They will play their final game against Australia on September 17, and then they have 11 days to reflect on their strategies.

India’s World Cup Warm-up games:

South Africa will be playing their first warm-up game on September 29. They will be playing both of their warm-up games at the same venue and will not travel before their opening game in the tournament. South Africa will be playing Afghanistan at Greenfield Stadium in Trivandrum on September 29th, and then they will take on previous edition runner-up New Zealand on October 2nd at the same venue. South Africa will open their World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka on October 7 at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium in Delhi. South Africa will be looking to make use of the fixture they have in their hands.

South Africa had a dismal performance in the 2019 World Cup and was on the verge of finishing in the second-to-bottom position. South Africa won their final two games to improve their position and ended up in 7th place. They lost to Bangladesh in the previous edition. In the 2011 World Cup, South Africa was knocked out of the quarterfinal round after losing to New Zealand. South Africa have played in the semi-final four times in their World Cup history and have failed to qualify for the finals in every edition. In India, they will be looking to break the jinx.
