Former India pacer S Sreesanth’s wife, Bhuvneshwari Kumari, has slammed former Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Lalit Modi and former Australian captain Michael Clarke for releasing a video of the slap-gate incident.
Modi, who recently appeared on Clarke’s podcast ‘Beyond 23,’ talked about the IPL slap-gate incident and also released a video from the moment. After a clash between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in IPL 2008, Harbhajan Singh had slapped Sreesanth during the hand-shake ceremony. The controversy later became popular as IPL slap-gate.
Modi released the video of the exact moment when Harbhajan slapped Sreesanth. The video was captured by one of the security cameras. In the video, Harbhajan was seen slapping Sreesanth with the back of his hand.

Sreesanth’s wife shared stories on Instagram to slam Modi and Clarke, calling their actions disgusting. She also added that Sreesanth and Harbhajan have moved on from the incident.
“Shame on you @lalitkmodi and @michaelclarkeofficial. You people are not even human to drag up something from 2008 just for your own cheap publicity and views,” she wrote.
“Both @sreesanthnair36 and Harbhajan have long moved on, they are fathers now with school-going children, and yet you try to throw them back into an old wound. Absolutely disgusting, heartless, and inhuman,” she added.

Notably, Harbhajan has apologised to Sreesanth on numerous occasions for the incident. The former Indian spinner has also admitted the incident was one of his biggest regrets in his career. Both the former Indian players share a close friendship now and have done commentary stints together.
