Out of these, 12 teams bagged a direct qualification to the tournament namely – India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, United States of America, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, and Pakistan.
Eight teams – Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Oman, and United Arab Emirates (UAE)- qualified through regional qualifier tournaments.
