Sri Lanka’s Tour of England 2024 will get underway on August 21 in Manchester.
The England cricket team are set to host Sri Lanka in a three-match test series from August 21 to September 10. The test series is part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.
England are coming into the test series after they hammered West Indues 3-0 at home.
Unfortunately, England’s test captain Ben Stokes suffered a hamstring injury during the Men’s Hundred tournament, which ruled him out of the rest of the English summer. In the absence of Stokes, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) named Ollie Pope as the stand-in skipper and Harry Brook will be vice-captain for the Sri Lanka test series.
Meanwhile, visitors Sri Lanka are coming into the England test series on a confident note after defeating the Indian cricket team at home in the three-match ODI series.
The Lankan Lions will be looking to put on a strong show in the three-match test series against the Ollie Pope-led side as they hope to reach the WTC 2023-25 final.
