Steve Smith scored an incredible 774 runs in just seven innings at a 110.57 average in Ashes 2019.

Australian vice-captain Steve Smith had a brutal reply to a publication that claimed that the batter would be relieved that Jofra Archer was ruled out of the upcoming Ashes 2023 as he had terrorized him with his pace and bounce during the 2019 series.

Smith and Archer did engage in ferocious combat during that series. Smith suffered a concussion as a result of a hard bouncer from Archer that struck him in the head during the second Test of the series at Lord's.

In that game, Marnus Labuschagne replaced him as the first-ever concussion substitution in Test cricket history, sparking an incredible run of form in the longest format.

Despite missing one game, Smith finished the series with the most runs scored, scoring an incredible 774 runs in just seven innings at a 110.57 average while also hitting three centuries and three half-centuries.

Since his infamous sandpaper gate controversy-related one-year suspension was over, this was the iconic batter's first red-ball series for his nation. With 22 wickets, Archer was the third-highest wicket-taker in the series.

Remind me when I was dismissed by him: Steve Smith on publications claim that he was terrorized by Jofra Archer

England's prospects of winning back the Ashes Trophy were severely damaged when star pacer Jofra Archer was confirmed to miss the entire home summer due to a stress fracture in his elbow that had previously kept him out of play for over two years.

Archer won't take part in the highly anticipated five-match Test series against Australia at home. The previous time Australia toured England in 2019, Archer was a prominent player, and the thrilling series will always be remembered for his ferocious fast bowling.

With just one month to go for the Ashes 2023 series, a tweet put out by 'Code Cricket' stated that "England paceman Jofra Archer terrorized Australia's batsmen four years ago. But Steve Smith and Co. can breathe a huge sigh of relief after an update from England’s medical staff this evening".

Smith did not mince his words and gave a brutal reply. "Terrorised? remind me when I was dismissed by him….," wrote Smith in a tweet that went viral on social media.

Smith was correct in his assessment, as he was not dismissed even once during the series.
