Sunil Gavaskar is currently part of commentary panel for the five-match ENG vs IND test series.
Former Indian Cricket Team captain Sunil Gavaskar has lashed out at the media houses for circulating fake quotes related to him. He urged to verify everything before believing as he hasn’t made some of the comments that have been all over social media attributed to his name.
Batting great Sunil Gavaskar has been one of the most reputed figures in Indian cricket. One of the major reasons behind Indian cricket being so popular is because of him as he laid the foundation for everything, and his legacy was carried forward by the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.
Sunil Gavaskar, who was part of the 1983 World Cup-winning squad, played the most threatening cricket. With no body protection, he faced the fast bowlers of the West Indies, Pakistan, Australia, Zimbabwe and others and dominated them, scoring truckloads of runs.
Sunil Gavaskar, who played his last game in 1987, is still involved in Indian cricket. Even in his 70s, he is contributing to the commentary box and also gives his takes on performances of teams as well as many individual players.
However, since the last few months, there have been a few quotes of his that have been circulating on social media and raised eyebrows of many. The former Indian captain also faced a lot of criticism for the same. But now he has clarified that.
