Suryakumar Yadav is captaining India in the five-match T20I series against Australia.

Indian Cricket Team T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav achieved a massive record in the history of the T20I cricket, becoming the second Indian and the fifth overall to reach the mark of 150 sixes in the shortest format of the game. He achieved the feat during the first T20I of the five-match series against the Australian Cricket Team on Wednesday, October 29 at the Manuka Oval, Canberra.

In a rain-affected game, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and opted to field. India lost opener Abhishek Sharma, who started well with four boundaries and provided a quick start, for 19 runs He stitched 35 runs for the opening stand with Shubman Gill.

After his dismissal, Suryakumar Yadav walked out at three, and cashed on the good start provided by the openers. Being under pressure for his low scores, the Indian captain batted aggressively and scored an unbeaten 39 runs off 24 balls with two sixes and three boundaries till 9.4 overs, when the game was halted due to rain.

With his two sixes in the first T20I against Australia, the 35-year-old reached a massive milestone in his T20I career, becoming the second Indian batsman to hit 150 sixes in the shortest format after Rohit Sharma. Overall, he is the fifth batsman to reach the mark.

Rohit, who retired from T20I cricket last year, slammed 205 sixes in 159 games and holds the record for most sixes. UAE captain Muhammad Waseem (187) is next on the list of batters with most sixes, followed by New Zealand’s Martin Guptill (173) and England’s Jos Buttler (172).
