Suryakumar Yadav played a match-winning knock to keep the series alive against West Indies.
India keep the series alive as Suryakumar Yadav‘s knock provided the visitors a great comeback in the 5-match T20I series against West Indies. Chasing 160 against West Indies in a slow Providence wicket was not an easy job but Suryakumar Yadav with his 83 runs innings put India in comfortable position. He smashed 4 sixes in his 44-ball innings, and also touched a milestone in his T20I career. SKY became the 3rd Indian batter to hit 100 or more sixes in T20Is. He needed 3 sixes to complete 100 sixes in his T20 career.
Suryakumar Yadav joined the elite list of captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma is India’s leading batter to hit most number of sixes. Rohit has smashed 182 sixes in his 140 innings. Virat Kohli is second in the list with 117 sixes in 107 innings. Suryakumar took just 50 T20I innings to hit 100 or more sixes.. KL Rahul also just one hit away joining this list as he has got 99 sixes under his name in 68 innings. Apart from these four, most of the batters are in 70s or 60s.

Right-hand batter Suryakumar Yadav is known for his counter-attacking cricket. One again it was evident with his game against West Indies in the second innings. India were two down inside the powerplay but he, along with newcomer Tilak Varma stitched a match-winning partnership of 87 runs. Suryakumar missed out on a well-deserved century as he got out while trying to play a big shot. Surya was caught at fine-leg by Brandon King of 83 in 44 balls smashing 10 fours and 4 sixes.
Indian chased down the target comfortably and Suryakumar Yadav was awarded the Player of the Match for his magnificent knock. Along with him, Tilak Varma also contributed massively and remained unbeaten on 49 in 37 balls. Tilak has been performing consistently since he made his debut for India in the first T20I. With 2-1 score line in favour of West Indies, both teams will fly to United States of America to play final two games of the series.
