Instances when a team won ICC Cricket World Cup unbeaten in the tournament

There are only four instances when a team won ICC Cricket World Cup remaining unbeaten in the tournament.
Team India have been superb in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. They have won 8 games on the trot in the group stage and will face Netherlands in their last match before the semi-finals start. The hosts have been undefeated so far and will be looking to carry on the momentum throughout the tournament and end the ICC trophy drought.
But only time will tell whether India will remain undefeated and win the title or what will happen. However, if India succeed in doing this, they will become only the third team to win the ICC Cricket World Cup without losing a game in the entire tournament, and it will be only the fifth instance of such. So let's check out the other instances.
Here are the instances when a team won the ICC Cricket World Cup without a single defeat
1. West Indies - ICC Cricket World Cup 1975 :

West Indies became the inaugural champions under the leadership of Clive Lloyd. They won all the games in the tournament. In the group stage, West Indies beat Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Australia. In the semi-finals, West Indies won by 8 wickets against New Zealand. In the finals, they faced Australia at Lord's and won by 17 runs to become the inaugural champions.
2. West Indies - ICC Cricket World Cup 1979 :

West Indies carried the same momentum in the 1979 World Cup as well, which was held in England. West Indies won against India, Sri Lanka and New Zealand during the group stages to qualify for the semi-finals. Then, in the semis, they faced Pakistan and won by 43 runs. In the finals at Lord's, West Indies dominated England and won by 92 runs to win their second consecutive World Cup title. It also came under Clive Lloyd.
3. Australia - ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 :

The third time such thing happened was during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Australia, who were the defending champions, went on to defend their title successfully, that too, without losing a game. It was a 14-team tournament. Australia were in pool A with six other teams, and they won against every team (Pakistan, India, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Namibia, and England). Then, in the super six stage, they beat Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Kenya to qualify for the semis. In the semi-finals, Australia beat Sri Lanka by 48 runs. Australia faced India in the finals at Johannesburg and won by 125 runs to win their third overall title.
4. Australia - ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 :

Australia have been the best team if we take out the history of the ICC Cricket World Cup. They had an undefeated streak of 27 matches, which came between 1999 and the 2011 World Cup. After winning all games, including the finals in 2003, they did something similar in ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. A total of 16 teams took part in the tournament and were divided into four groups of four.
Australia won their three group matches against Scotland, Netherlands and South Africa and qualified for the super 8. In that round, they beat South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ireland, England, Bangladesh, and West Indies to qualify for the semis. In the semi-finals, they faced South Africa for the third time in the tournament and registered a win by 7 wickets. Australia faced Sri Lanka in the finals at Barbados and won by 53 runs (DLS method) to win their fourth championship and second undefeated.
