"Tag of us being chokers"- Temba Bavuma make a massive revelation about Australia sledging them on day four of ICC WTC 2023-25 final

Temba Bavuma played a vital role with the bat in the ICC WTC 2023-25 final against South Africa.

South Africa Cricket Team skipper Temba Bavuma made a massive revelation about one of the Australia Cricket Team players sledging them during the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 final. He said that he heard the opposition player saying that the Proteas might choke. 

The South Africa Cricket Team finally ended their International Cricket Council (ICC) title drought. The Proteas, under the leadership of Temba Bavuma, beat Australia in the ICC WTC 2023-25 final by five wickets at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Saturday (14th June). 

South Africa were called chokers for losing most of the ICC knockout matches since 1998, but ended that tag as well with the win in the final. The Temba Bavuma-led side displayed a magnificent effort with the bat and ball and made sure that they wrote their name in the record books. 

After the three spectacular days of cricket, South Africa needed 69 runs on day four. However, there was still a lot of nerves in the fans about whether they would chase it or not because of how closely they had lost in the last few knockout games. But Aiden Markram (136) hit a staggering ton as Proteas chased the target with five wickets.

Temba Bavuma, while talking about the clash, revealed that he heard one of the Australian players calling them chokers. He added that the opposition didn’t sledge much but used few hard words. 

“Playing against Australia is a bit different in the last couple of years. They’re not as vocal out on the field. They’re still aggressive through their body language, through obviously their skill, but there’s not a lot of chatter. Of course, the tag of us being chokers, that came about this morning.”

“One of their players threw out the fact that we could lose our eight wickets in less than 60 runs. I definitely heard that. Aiden kept using the [words] lock in after every over, let’s keep locking in. Let’s give them nothing. So yeah, not a lot of chatter, just one or two things that were, that were said,” he said to reporters after the final.

Temba Bavuma also played a vital role with the bat in the ICC WTC 2023-25 final. He slammed 66 runs as he stitched 147 runs partnership with Aiden Markram to help the team win.
